Room conditions and a separate temperature point, on one screen

The MOES WSS-T08-A combines an indoor temperature and humidity sensor with a wired external temperature probe. Keep the display where it is easy to read and position the probe at the point you want to monitor within its 1 m cable reach.

Its LCD distinguishes the probe reading from the room readings. Wi-Fi app monitoring adds history, configurable alerts and links to compatible smart-home scenes, so you can understand a change rather than only see a number.

Wi-Fi connection

Connect the sensor to a compatible Wi-Fi network for app access. Remote readings require the sensor, router, Internet connection and app service to be available.

MOES / Smart Life / Tuya Smart

View room and probe measurements in their separate app fields, then configure the available records, notifications and scenes.

Useful readings at a glance

The display shows probe temperature, indoor temperature and humidity, together with time, battery level and Wi-Fi status. Temperature units can be changed between °C and °F.

A separate wired probe

The 1 m probe cable separates the temperature measurement point from the display. Humidity is measured at the main body, not at the probe.

Understand the readings, records and alerts

The large central temperature belongs to the external probe. The lower fields show the temperature and relative humidity around the main unit. If the probe is moved elsewhere, these temperatures may legitimately differ; the humidity value still describes the air around the display.

The illustrated app offers day, month and year views, with separate environment and probe records and an email-export option. These are ways to inspect trends, not a promise of a fixed cloud retention period or an uninterrupted measurement log.

Set temperature or humidity conditions in the app to receive notifications when the selected rule is met. Choose the correct room or probe field and test a notification before relying on it. Phone permissions, connectivity and app settings affect delivery; this is not a guaranteed emergency alarm.

Useful ways to use it

  • Bedroom or home office: see the air conditions where the display stands while comparing temperature at a second nearby point, such as a shaded window area.
  • Dry cupboard or storage area: position the probe in the space you want to watch while keeping the display accessible and the cable free from pinching. This is monitoring, not certification that stored goods remain safe.
  • Observe heating or ventilation changes: compare readings before and after an adjustment. Keep the body away from direct heater output or sunlight if you want a representative room reading.
  • Compatible smart-home scenes: use an available temperature or humidity condition to trigger a separately compatible heater controller, humidifier or other actuator. Confirm that the exact sensor field is offered as a scene trigger and test both activation and stopping conditions.

The manufacturer illustrates Alexa and Google Assistant voice queries, including probe temperature. Availability of a particular reading depends on the linked account, supported language and integration. The sensor itself is not a voice speaker or a power switch, and it does not directly run a heater or air conditioner.

Setup, placement and care

  1. Install 3 alkaline AAA / LR03 batteries rated 1.5 V each, matching the polarity marks. Do not assume batteries are included in the supplied package.
  2. Open MOES, Smart Life or Tuya Smart, sign in and follow the device-addition instructions for this Wi-Fi sensor. Use the pairing indication and button procedure specified for your supplied unit; do not substitute instructions from a different sensor model.
  3. Enter your compatible network details and complete app setup. Name the device for its location, then check that room temperature, room humidity and probe temperature are shown in the correct fields.
  4. Place the body on a stable surface, use its rear mounting arrangement or attach it using an appropriate adhesive method. Manufacturer illustrations also show magnetic attachment on a suitable metal surface. Check that it is secure.
  5. Route the probe without pulling its lead tight, crushing it in a door or placing the display in the extreme environment being measured. Test connectivity and any notifications again in the final position.

The probe measurement range of −40 to +120 °C is not the operating rating of the display, batteries or the complete assembly. Keep the body dry. Although supplier artwork describes the probe as waterproof, no immersion depth, duration or IP rating is established here: do not assume it is suitable for permanent submersion, food contact or a safety-critical process.

Allow the sensor to settle after moving it, keep the body ventilation openings clear and compare the correct sensing point when checking against another thermometer. Clean the body with a soft dry cloth and replace weak batteries as needed. This is an environmental monitor, not a certified laboratory instrument or an independent protective controller.

Common questions

Does the probe measure humidity?

No. The external probe measures temperature; humidity is measured by the main unit. Moving the probe does not move the humidity sensing point.

Can it control a normal heater by itself?

No. It provides readings and scene conditions. Automatic control needs a separate compatible controller or actuator, with suitable electrical ratings and its own equipment protections.

Why might a phone reading look older than the screen?

A remote reading depends on reporting and connectivity. Check the latest update, battery level, network and app status. A fixed update interval is not specified for this listing.
