Name the light on the switch itself
The Zemismart ZMS-206EU-1 is a white, single-gang touch wall switch with a display for a customizable name. Give the connected light a clear label so you can recognize the right switch beside other controls, instead of trying each button.
Use the touch button at the wall, or connect it through a compatible Tuya Zigbee hub for app control. This listing is the one-button version; manufacturer family demonstrations may show switches with more buttons.
Zigbee through a compatible hub
The switch communicates over Zigbee, not directly over Wi-Fi. A compatible Tuya Zigbee gateway connects it to the app; remote functions also depend on the hub, network and required service being available.
Tuya and Smart Life
Control the connected light from Tuya or Smart Life and personalize the displayed label and indicator settings available in the device page. Check the switch and gateway combination before relying on a particular integration.
Make the switch easy to recognize
Connect after professional installation
- Have a qualified electrician first check the actual unit label, wiring, connected light and wall box. This is a mains-wired, live-and-neutral switch, not a battery-powered wireless button.
- Set up a compatible Tuya Zigbee hub in the chosen app. Put the switch into pairing mode according to the instructions supplied with the actual unit, then add it as a sub-device of that hub.
- After adding it, test the wall button and app control of the correct light. Keep the hub within reliable Zigbee coverage; a phone connected to Wi-Fi does not replace the Zigbee hub.
Change the name and indicator
- Open the switch device page. The manufacturer demonstration shows pressing and holding the switch tile in the app, editing its name and saving it so the display updates. Use a short, recognizable label and check how it appears on the screen.
- Use the available indicator settings to choose the on/off colors and backlight brightness. The manufacturer shows red, blue, green, white and yellow options; these settings change the switch indicator, not the brightness or color of the connected lamp.
- Approaching the switch wakes its display so you can find it in the dark. This is a screen-wake feature, not a promise that room lighting will automatically switch on when someone enters.
Useful in everyday rooms
Clear labels beside other switches
Name it for the light it actually controls, such as the entrance or balcony. A clear displayed name helps family members choose the correct switch without experimenting with neighboring buttons.
App schedules and voice control
The manufacturer supports scheduled on/off control through the app and voice control through compatible Alexa or Google Home services via Tuya. Configure the schedule or account link first, then test the actual light and chosen device name.
For a room scene, combine this switch with other compatible devices only where the app exposes the required conditions and actions. A schedule or scene needs its own setup; it is not automatically created when the switch is installed.

Check these before installation
- The supplied version is white and single-gang, with one touch button and one controlled lighting channel. Do not use multi-gang images as a wiring diagram for this unit.
- A neutral conductor is required in addition to live supply. Wall-box fit, terminal layout, permitted voltage and lamp/load suitability must be checked against the actual single-gang unit and its instructions.
- Do not select a load using a rating printed on a different two- or three-gang illustration. Confirm the permitted type and rating with the seller or electrician before connection.
- A compatible Tuya Zigbee hub is required for app integration. Do not assume direct Wi-Fi, native Matter or universal Home Assistant/other-hub compatibility from the Zigbee label alone.
- Remote control, voice services and cloud scenes depend on the relevant connection, accounts and services. The illuminated indicator is not proof that wiring is safely isolated.
If control or labels do not behave as expected
- If the app cannot find the switch, check that you are adding a Zigbee sub-device to the compatible hub and follow the actual unit’s pairing instructions. Check hub coverage and online status before repeating setup.
- If the displayed name does not update, save the edited label in the device page and check whether the app and switch remain connected. Try a shorter label if the screen does not show it clearly.
- If the button does not respond, check the app’s available control restrictions before assuming a wiring fault. Do not open or inspect live terminals; refer electrical problems to the installer.
Common questions
Can I use the app without a Zigbee hub?
No. This model needs a compatible Tuya Zigbee hub for app integration. It is not a direct Wi-Fi switch.
Does changing the backlight dim my lamp?
No. The documented brightness setting is for the switch indicator/backlight. Do not treat this on/off model as a lamp dimmer.
Does approaching the switch automatically turn on the room light?
The documented sensing feature wakes the display. Automatic room-light control would require a separately supported and configured automation; it is not established by the screen-wake feature.
Why do some demonstrations have three buttons?
They show other members of the manufacturer’s ZMS-206EU family to explain common display and app functions. This listing supplies the one-gang version, not a three-gang unit.
Can I connect a heater, motor or any lamp of the same wattage?
Do not assume that. The actual unit’s permitted load type and rating, lamp inrush and installation conditions must be checked by the electrician. A family image or app on/off function does not establish suitability for every load.
